It is the iPhone!
There two activities: taking snapshots and making photographs. Early camera phones were reasonably good at taking snapshots. The later iPhones have brought creative photography to the pocket of most folks who are interested.
I (Bruce) started pursuing the iPhone as a photographic tool after I got my iPhone 6s Plus. I then took some classes from The iPhone Photography School.
In 2018, I started teaching a class as part of the Summer Citizens program at Utah State University in Logan, UT. It is being offered again in 2019.
This portion of the website is dedicated to the use of the iPhone as a serious photographic tool, including photos taken by his students.
In June of 2017, I began a study from the iPhone Photography School. It has significantly improved my iPhone photos by:
Showing hints on how to use the iPhone better
Reminding me of photography basics
Indroducting apps for camera control and post editing.
The rules of these photos is that they must be taken and edited (if they are) on an iOS device, such as an iPhone or iPad. For the most part, they were taken on an iPhone 6S plus and edited on an iPad Air 2.
Some of my work is presented in Bruce's iPhone Photos.
